Do Follow Blog and Negative SEO

Hello,

I currently have a do-follow blog which of course trades the links for quality comments.

However if hte people posting on my blog are like me then they throw spammy linka like bookmarks at those links they put on my blog.

As the blog has very little authority do you think I should end the practice of allowing links to avoid getting crushed by spammy links?

I know my rank has fallen inexplicably before taking a vigorous campaign to get it back so you can see my concern.

    If you are worried about getting your blog spammed to death than have comment moderation enabled and approve only quality comments.

      no that is not what i was talking about, comments are already moderated.

      I am talking about approved comments with link sin them. If it is by a good IM tht IM will then through spammy links at his link in the comment section. But these spammy links will also be at my website and could cost me.

        Oops...my bad :p

        Anyway, if the comment adds value to your blog than there is no reason why you should not allow it even if has a link. You can strip off the links if you want before allowing a comment to be posted or make them no-follow.

    Blog only get banned by google if they find you are putting junk comment in the post. You need to keep strict moderation for all those comment and approve only those comment which are unique. Keep your blog quality high and do not accept link from adult sites.

    OK GUYS I AM GOING TO ASK YOU TO ACTUALLY READ MY OP.

    I am not talking about the comments I approve or the links in them.

    I am talking about the person who posted the link then going out and pointing spammy links to their link on my site, which is a common practice among seo's.

    These links are outside my control and could damage my blog.
