LOL! Search for "make money online" in Google

Seems it was an older site that Google locked the owner out of because of spam. Seems the spam is still working though. I imagine this one will be hand-edited before long. That won't stop the spam from working, however.

LOL that is freaking ridiculous. I noticed the same thing on my keywords. Sites that have nothing to do with the keyword are ranking high. G has a lot of fixing to do on this one otherwise long term if the results are not relevant searchers will leave which in turn will hurt G. I assume some elements of this algo change will be tweaked but I doubt it will be rolled all the way back.

Didn't even last a day. I am showing the site at #44 now. The algo is not a push button and zip like people think. It makes changes and recalculates as sites are crawled. Things that people are hooping and hollering about may all be different when the recrawl is complete.

Make money online is my niche and for the past few weeks I have seen that blog ranking on the 1st page for so many of our big keywords. It is just amazing to me.

And whats more is the famous 101waystomakemoney that has been dominating the serps for all the make money online keywords is no where to be seen. It still on the first page for some keywords, but not for make money online and many other big keywords.

I do think that this will all settle down and most of these sites that are up now will go down and the old rankers will come back as they have more links (quality and quantity) and I dont think Google algo is smart enough yet to rank sites using content alone or any other metric. Though I could be wrong.

Naked IP addresses rank before my indexed page for the keyword I have in the title.

Brilliant.

Edit: off to bed, because these serps are just head over heels. Griz's empty blog has no business ranking where it does for anything. If Google does what Google says it does, that is.

That silly site ranks top for me :/ If I ever was to search that keyword for this information, I'd have made my mind that google is crap! I think this update really sucks. It is deteriorated the serps quality considerably. Most people who ALSO put high quality content which are worth reading are the ones doing backlinking. Most people who just write honest articles on their site and know nothing about backlinks, might have given up already.

For many searches, I cannot find useful content at all. Some searches have really weird results popping in.

I really need to start using someone else for search now. Google has definitely lost its touch. What really pisses me off about them now is how they will not let you set your search for another country. I live in Japan, but most of the searching I want to do is for US sites. Their stupid arrogance in trying to force us to do things their way really messes up my searches.

You can add "&gl=us&hl=en" to the URL query to get a reasonable idea of how US results will look. It won't give you a specific city's results though.

My theory is that all sites that ranked for that search before used some kind of link spam and the complete SERP has been penalized.

This is what's left. The rest. The scraps. The only sites that don't have spammy backlinks.
