Should I put something unique in the description meta tag or should I put the content of the page in description (upto 150 characters)?

meta description should be around 165 characters. best is writing a unique description on what the page is about.

The description meta tag is basically just a salesy ad space to help you improve your click-through-rate on a google search result page. You want it to be readable and for it to describe what your site/page is all about.

Think of the meta description as your call to action.

Depending on how your article is written, your meta description might be quite different to your opening paragraph in the article.

Note that Google may or may not use your meta description depending on whether it determines there is a better abstract in your main article body or not.

Meta tag are a key that generally hidden to user and only search engine can view but apart from, through meta tag we know your website theme and what product you provide and functionally also.

Just a quick one - Google will only ever use the description tag if it cannot find any relevant content within your page. If there is no relevant content then your page will never rank for your keywords.
