Hello,

We have colleuges in the SEO and Link Building industry who have bought tons of dropped domains that are 1 year or older in order to build up a network in which they build links for their clients.

Now, these are all PR0 - PR6, they are dropped domains, and have names like 128ff.info or blogaboutthings.com.

Now, they have no OBL's, all 100% unique content and things like that, howevwe we are wanting to know do you feel that Google will penalized or not count linsk coming from these sites, simply becuase of the domain names, or because they are General Topic sites, that have no one specific content package, they have content over hundreds of topics.

I wouldn't trust any seo company no matter how much money they've invested or their results. Most seo services are for the mass market, so that means cheap and low quality backlinks in huge amounts. For the most part they don't give a monkies if your site ranks or tanks as long as they get their doe.

You need to take control of your own seo, set up a few buffer sites either private or web2.0 and use these for backlinking to, that way when Google throws a fannywobble you can just break off the links and save your site. Then spend your time doing your own high quality links to your own website.

If those sites were not penalized by google then there is no problem to that.

Often times Google will devalue all links passed from websites that have changed registration. That said buying domains isn't the best idea.

Either way it's difficult to know whether or not a domain has been penalized. If the domain is still active you can search the homepage title and see how well it ranks. If a website doesn't rank well for it's only title chances are it has some sort of penalty.
