I checked out a video on how to use Scrapebox after the penguin & panda updates, however the guy only talks about making the links look natural to not raise any red flags in the eyes of google. He talks about using a variety of anchor text keywords in your commenting. I can understand that, but what I''m trying to figure out is:

1- What types of sites should we be extracting/parsing using scrapebox? Which types of sites are best to look for posting links or which sites are still effective?

2- Should we use the blog comment poster that comes with scrapebox at all or will it be too many links that makes things look un-natural?

3- How do we post to the links that we extract/parse? Are we supposed to do it manually or does scrapebox do it for us? Can it do forum posts?

4- Does scrapebox come with the right footprints or should we use the custom feature for better results?

5- Is there any training videos that are updated to that of the google penguin & panda updates?

6- Should Scrapebox be used in conjunction to some other link building software?

The guy doesn't answer quite a few things in the video.

I would look up Scrapebox Tuts on youtube and this should give you a much better idea of what you should be doing.

These tutorials are a bit dated now, unfortunately.

1 - Look for high quality, DoFollow blogs. Especially after all of the recent Google changes. Quality over quantity.

2 - You can use the fast poster if you want. But, again, I lean towards quality over quantity. I use SB to discover blogs that I'll later manually comment on.

3 - No forum posts. Just blogs.

4 - Spend some time learning the footprints of each search engine. You can get pretty creative and really drill down your searches & results.

5 - No videos that I'm aware of. You'll be fine if you use SB as a discovery tool and not a blast tool.

6 - Yep. Just like anything else really. Don't focus on just 1 link building method.

Maybe, but they still work and Brian Valentine is one of the best most comprehensive SB trainers around. He gives away better training than some paid options. His Rapid Ranking Blueprint is still relevant too.

Thanks guys. So should I just mainly use it as a discovery tool to find the best places to post links back to my site then (manually that is)? That's basically what most people seem to be saying...

        Pretty much what I do.

However, if you don't mind putting on your black hat, you can still rank sites pretty well with "smart" Scrapebox blasts. (But they may not last long-term.) When I use SB on a site I go for about an 80% DoFollow / 20% NoFollow ratio. This still seems to work pretty well in my experience. Especially on sites that already have a lot of authority. (Youtube, for example.)

Instead of simply blasting away and trying to create 100,000 links I'd prefer 1,000 if 800 were DoFollow.
