Terrific of frightful.

I have 3 websites on the first page of Google for the
last 7 months. The websites have remained there,
and in the same position; but traffic has fallen by
70% and the earnings, too.

Does that means being on Google's front page
does not matter because no traffic warrants?

What do you think?

      The internet is dynamic. People search for different things at different times.
      It goes up, it goes down.

      The real question is, why would it stay the same? Impossible.
      There are many reasons for this. Weather, season, bigger events,
      less popular topic, personalized results, .... the list is endless

      I have a gardening site. The traffic spikes from May to July. Just
      an example. I have a college site. Spiking in traffic, after slowing
      in June to now. I could say the same for all my sites.

      Most people don't realize the seasonal aspect of things, along
      with general public surfing and searching interests will vary
      as the day is long.

      Nobody can really answer the reason to satisfy you. If you
      have a site on PC's, I'll be traffic has steadily gone down as
      people quit buying. Just one example.

      You have to adapt. Some sites get stale, some sites become
      irrelevant for today.

      It's up to you, not google, to get traffic to your site. I wish
      more people realized that.

        I know that when you're signed in and
        using Google Chrome, the results are
        different. Generally your websites are
        in a high position.
        I check them using Firefox and not sign in Google.

          You need to do more than just not be signed into Google. You need to clear your cache and browsing history.

          Alternatively, just use an incognito window in Google Chrome. It browses without all that stuff.

          Also, you said in your post that you have remained on page in your rankings, but are you in the same positions on page one? There can be a significant decrease in traffic going from #2 to #3, for example.

    They mean 'how are you checking you are still ranking?' If you do a G search on your browser you are probably seeing personalized results (i.e. not actual rankings).

    Have you verified your rankings? When did you notice the drop off?

    i think you should active Google analytic tool on your website. If you already have active account then visit your analytics tool and check the past ranking data. Find out what causing the ranking drop. There will be three chances 1] your targeted keywords are not on the same position, which they were ranking previously. 2] Clear you cache and search again. 3] Image traffic went down.

    Check the source of your traffic may be you are not getting traffic from your targeted keyword if it’s not a case then clear your cache and check the searches of the keyword via Google Ad words and check your ranking again. It might work for you.
