Web2.0 Link Pyramid Questions: How much is too much???

Hello Warriors - I'm fairly new to SEO and linkbuilding. I've been doing it for about 2-3 months now with really great results so far (currently I'm result #18 for my main keyword "online mastering"). Page 2 is pretty good for an seo n00b if u ask me And my site reached PR4 after only 30 days of linkbuilding. So far my main strategies have been blog comments (aiming for the top commentator spot on a handful of high PR blogs), as well as forum signature links and some social bookmarking. So really nothing fancy.

I only recently learned what Web 2.0 even means. I actually thought it was something more complex then just sitebuilders and blog hosts. So with that I learned about link pyramids and this whole tiered linking thing.

Which leads to my questions:

1. So far I've made ~30 web 2.0 mini sites. Is this too much?
2. Each site has 3-5 pages, and each page has 2 contextual links. Some of them also have a blogroll link. Is this too many links per page? I have them pointing to different pages, but should I only have one link per page?
3. Is it safe to blast these mini-sites directly? Or do I really have to build another tier?
4. Also, is ANY of this even safe post-penguin? I'm doing everything manually, writing fresh content as I go. Also varying up the usernames & subdomains.

All of the content is actually 100% unique and not spun. So I have that on my side. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi Vital, I will try to answer some of your questions as best I can

    1. So far I've made ~30 web 2.0 mini sites. Is this too much?

No, that sounds just about perfect. There's really no such thing as 'too much', the real question is, "Is this too much at one time".

    2. Each site has 3-5 pages, and each page has 2 contextual links. Some of them also have a blogroll link. Is this too many links per page? I have them pointing to different pages, but should I only have one link per page?

Its not too many, but I would limit the links to 2 at the most. Some I would even have one, some I would have none at all.. you dont want to look like you are purposely running a web20 ring for the main purpose of linkbuilding. It's even good to include links to other authority sites, like a wikipedia page. Careful about adding links too early.. the web20 owners sometimes have a happy 'delete' finger and might remove your site if they think they're being "used".. if that happens, your link structure could become broken.

    3. Is it safe to blast these mini-sites directly? Or do I really have to build another tier?

Yes and no.. Kind of depends on whether you want these mini-sites to rank on their own, or if you care whether they get indexed/deindexed.. in other words, the further away the tier, the more carefree you can be about blasting.

    4. Also, is ANY of this even safe post-penguin? I'm doing everything manually, writing fresh content as I go. Also varying up the usernames & subdomains.

It's all safe post-penguin, as long as you arent using poorly spun content. I would also add images, add profile pics, really beef up your web20's (at least the 1st tier ones).. again, the further out you go, the less you have to put into them.

I hope to have been some help

I'll share my WEB 2.0 strategy with you

    I drip 50 Web 2.0s over 2 days

Each page has 2 links pointing toward my website and have different anchor text

    The first link is always 1 url while the 2nd spins like the following {Long tail 1| Long Tail 2 | www.website.com | http://website.com |website.com}

Then I go out and collect around 20 relevant images and embed them all in with spyntax so every page has different pictures

I repeat the same and add a youtube video to the page

Then I send 100 social bookmarks to each web 2.0

Voila a powerful pyramid only takes 15 minutes to setup in ultimate demon

      Hi Sovereignn,
How often do you build this link pyramid for each web page?
Is there such thing as too many link pyramids for one domain?
I ask because I have several pages within a domain with different keywords that I want to rank for. How often should I build these link pyramids with each of these pages?

      Thanks
      Steve

I don't think there is "too much" really, but I would vary the type that you build. Some with spun content is pretty common, but build some higher quality web 2.0 properties as well. It's not like Google is ever going to be able to properly punish these properties, so I suspect that they will have value for quite some time.

Sometimes I will post a few articles, age a blog, and then put a link up weeks later. Surround it by high quality images and video.

Web 2.0s present the unique opportunity to create full blown quality websites with a link to your own site, and yet so many people treat them almost as if they were forum profiles.

This is not much to afraid. Careful doing the spin. Re-work the spun articles and ensure the readability.
