Do SEO Link Wheels Really Work?

I'm really into the SEO scene. If I could be at Starbucks all day building backlinks, I'd be ALL over it. I've never looked deeply into linkwheels though. I just finished my first one today and I'm anxious to see what happens to my money blog!

Do I have the right idea?

Things probably won't happen within a few hours haha but I would like to know who has had some success with link wheels.

How can I profit from them?

    Yeah link wheels are so last month, LOL. Well they have lost a little of their steam in recent months due to google changes, but if you build them correctly they can still be effective. Don't link your blogs together if you have shred hosting. And use different hosting accounts that have diff C class blocks. Also utilize a bunch of 2.0 sites too.

      Last month? More like last decade LOL! I was looking through this forum, and there's stuff about linkwheeling dating back to 2007! I want them to work because it's fun to build Thanks for the tips!

    I wouldn't put my eggs into the link wheel basket anymore. I've had success in times past, but honestly if you can put those diagrams on a napkin, the 100 engineers at Google with Terabytes of CPU RAM working at fighting linkspam have more than enough resources to discover and discount the rankings manipulation.

    Then again, it's SEO - so experiment as you see fit. My warning though is that any link wheeling is going to be a short term win, nothing more.

      haha yeah bro you're right. If I can draw this thing out with ease, then I'm sure that google nazis can sniff stuff out haha! Maybe I should make it just a tad more complicated But yeah, linkwheeling is just one idea I stumbled upon. I'm starting to look more into social media. Thanks James!

        for the example you just put up that is correct. Basically the link terminates on one end and cannot go back.

    You can still do 'linkwheel' but look or search for the term 'link pyramid' instead of 'link wheel'. This type of linking is better because they all dont connect to one another, and therefore is less detectable. Your diagram is fine, but branch out, bigger and bigger. more and more. Also in some properties, link out to other places, like a wikipedia page etc. Some, maybe dont link out at all! Try to make it look as natural and chaotic as possible, such as the www is

    Google can easily point out link wheels and will penalize you for engaging in them.

    Plus, link wheels will do nothing for your site in terms of traffic. They're typically low-quality links unless you are connected to some authority site.

    Try to think long-term when building backlinks. Google is more worried about quality of links nowadays rather than quantity.

    Start guest blogging and forming relationships with others in your industry.

    Yeah, it works!...... in a short period of time then Google will slap you Remember, if you want a long term success make sure, you do what is not against to Google. You can still build those web 2.0s, however make it just like a blog, treat it as real and don't interlink those web 2.0s. Just link your money site and everything will be okay.

      Thanks for the great advice Ronnie I'm actually taking down the interlinking right now. I love my site and don't want to see it get slapped! I'm definitely after the long term success

      That's what I'm in the process of working on right now. I'm using 2.0 sites linking to my money site. As far as indexing, do you use a rapid indexer? Right now I'm just manually bookmarking to around 10-15 bookmarking sites.

      Yeah I just found out that this was a black hat method Which is a shame because I love it! It's like building an interlinking puzzle. I'm still having fun though I'll try to create backlinks using 2.0 Thanks for the encouragement!

    I always considered that a blog or an article about your site is the safest place to build a strong back-linking package, of basically any king (I would say no only too spammy blog comments). I have a website with just a few back-links and is on the first page on many keywords with this strategy.

    yeah the piratesofblogging tier linking strategy is much better than regular link wheels. I think the ranking on page 1 will be determined by other factors too beside just tier backlinking. Better to focus most of your efforts on creating killer content and worry about backlinks as a secondary effort.

        As an SEO that I do work for clients I cant in good conscience recommend non quality all unique content. I believe its asking for trouble.

    To everybody seeking answers to link wheels secret my recommendation is
    " don't fall for these three words wheels , pyramids , tiers "

    There is no use and no long term benefit in trying to fool google to manipulate rankings. Link wheel is an attempt to make google fall in a link loop and think you have so many of them.

    Erhm, I'm speaking from experience. I used link wheels and only link wheels for the past few weeks for my site. And got on the first page of Google (at least for now). If you don't believe me, try googling 'buy backlinks' and you'll find my site (my ciggie) on page 1, or probably page 2.

    I think the key was using unique content for each article that I posted.
