Google is not rewarding me for hard work & full white hat SEO - Opinions wanted!

Hello,

I made a thread here in August, explaining my strategy for authority blog. I have been doing everything that I mentioned there + many more new things.

But, after so much work for 3 months, I hardly see the results :/

    There are a lot of good sites that Google isn't rewarding, and your blog is still relatively new. The question is: do visitors like your site?

    Rather than search rankings, I'd focus on your bounce rate and what percent of your traffic is posting comments, using your share buttons, opting in if you have a mailing list, etc. If the few visitors you have like the site and can get involved, more traffic will usually follow.

      I think that visitors like my website here is the statistic:

      Bounce rate: 50%
      Average time on site: 3 mins+
      30% returning visitors
      3 pages per visit

      I don't get much social shares, but my traffic is low so even that social shares are okay

      Well, reading your answers guys I think I should just continiue adding great content and care less about SEO.

      But if Google consider all SEO blackhat, should I even do SEO?

      How can something get shared and get traffic if noone see it at start?
      Would "GanGam Style" become viral if it was just uploaded to some junk site and wasnt shared and promoted?

    There is no such thing as white hat SEO, all SEO is blackhat to google. Don't depend on google, use them as a bonus traffic source.

      Just build a website, and work on it every day as any business owner would. Improve on your content and analyze what you could do better. Always find something that can make it better.

    Lastdual brings up an interesting point.

    Remember, SEO is so fickle, that it can be difficult to forecast.

    Even if you do everything right, the aspects and variables are always changing.

    So, there may never be a bulletproof "gameplan".

    I think the future of Google is going to be so different than what we see. Lots of variables will come into play that people haven't thought about. Geographic location and bouncerate are two major considerations for the future, and I think we've already begun to see it.

    Remember that Google has some of the best computer science guys on the planet; their algorithms aren't so easy to beat, decipher or analyze. And, as time passes, this become more true.

    And it is to mention, that your SEO is not white hat - pure white hat did not force link building through yahoo answers and such. Thats BH (because you abuse here YA and they will ban you if they smell that you use your account for backlinks).

    So, your way is called "Grey Hat" because it mix white hat with "under the hood" black hat.

    The point is - you list some work - but is there something new or hard to do?
    No. If it would be so easy and doable - why not everyone get an authority blog/site?

    If you understand thats its alot harder to do, then you will understand why it did not works out of that box.

    Give it some time. The results will come and continue to come. It just takes awhile to get the ball rolling and once its rolling it never stops. Keep writing new content and getting traffic. Build a list. Etc. Don't give up.

    we have been doing seo on our site for more than a year now. We had some successes in terms of increasing unique visitor traffic, but after the recent Google update, everything seemed to get really slow. It's like we're not improving at all. And there's been a decrease in our traffic. I guess we just have to keep on fighting, update ourselves with the recent trends on Google and act accordingly on them.

    Looks good on paper...BUT your plan isn't natural. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

    My new site isn't getting any love either...I've only done 10 articles, with lots of blog commenting and now 3 web 2.0's, 1 yahoo answers,facebook and twitter, 2 cheap youtube videos..not much..but still 0 traffic from google.

    I almost feel like the facebook and youtube links hurt you unless they get lots of social love.

    One new idea I have is to join a social link sharing site where you pay for real people to share your links on facebook, pinterest, etc...From what I hear google loves it.

    My other idea is just to buy a bunch of PR3+ sites and build my own private backlink network..Just added my link to a PR4 homepage...should be interesting.

    I spent all of 2010 and 2011 hammering out 3-4 articles a day. Google repaid me by delisting almost all of my sites.

    Google don't owe you a living. But neither do you owe them anything. Use DuckDuckGo when you do your own searches, forget Google.

    Building an authority based website is not a 2 month experience.. takes years. If you look at your original thread one thing that stuck out to me was you had a bunch of people that really didn't seem to know better.. tell you how great your plan was, makes me think of the saying..In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

    Google isn't going to reward you, you need to earn it. Google will not make you an Authority site, Your niche needs to recognize you as an authority which takes time and trust.
