I have written an article on "multiple tomcat instances" and want to rank in google for it. But I am not in SERP's even till 12-15 pages. But if search for following terms, I am at number 1 position:

tomcat multiple instances inurl:javaexperience.com
tomcat multiple instances site:javaexperience.com

Can someone point me in the right direction to get better ranking for the above keyword

    It is all about competition!

tomcat multiple instances inurl:javaexperience.com means your content is indexed in Google.

You can also search this way:

    site:yoursite.com

For ranking your main keyword, you have to fight with your competitors, try checking your competitors and find where is problem in your site, how effective is your competitor site, this would help you.

    Hi Java,
Yes you will be listed in 1st spot if you do a refine search like this. Writing an article alone cannot bring your website in top position. There are many other criterias search engines use to rank keywords for a user query.

I have noticed that the websites returned in SERP's for the above keyword are also ranking well for other keywords (I mean other pages from those websites). On the other hand, I am still getting almost zero traffic from google after 6 months and 162 blog posts. I have also done some amount of link building too using social bookmarks, blog and forum commenting. Some people who liked content on my website have also given me dofollow backlinks.

I am looking for some concrete actions which I should do rank well. Unless I don't know the action points, how can I implement them. That's why asking for help.

My observation for the pages already present in the SERP's is that all of them have got pagerank of 1-4. I am confident about quality of content and on page SEO. For the time being I am going with link building for my page. looking to get backlinks from different sources.
