In the Google Analytics, what is the difference between the direct and referral sources of traffic.

There are significant falls in these two sources traffic to my site.

    Direct traffic is comprised of visitors who typed in your website’s URL into a browser to get to the site. Referral sources are traffic that come from other websites via an inbound link.

    There could be a lot of reasons you are seeing a drop in traffic but without more info its hard to say why.
