PAGE RANK -- BACK LINK QUESTION

This question might be stupid... but ... If a site lets say Example.com is a page rank 4 and I build a back link on an inner page (Example.com/rubberduck with a PR of (0) what actual link juice am I getting??? Does the inner page have to have a high PR to get any link juice or the site as a whole. I suspect the page that the actual link is on "SHOULD" rank... But what do I know...:confused:

    You're getting link juice only from the page you link to. So you shouldn't be getting any real juice from a link on a pr0 page.

    If you linked to the pr4 page, than you'd be getting link juice. If you linked above the fold on that pr4 page, then you'd get a bit more link juice.

    But linking to an inner page, is just getting another low quality link. Although if its relevant, its better than nothing.

    On the other hand, you should just harvest your own high pr links. A youtube video can reach pr 4 in 3 months if you blast it with thousands of scrapebox links.

    Then link to the video, and you have your pr 4 link.

    A link from a PR4 page carriers way more weight than a link from a PR0 page, although that link still would carry value. Lots of people out there try to sell a link from a high PR DOMAIN, yet that link is on a low (or no) PR inner page. And that's a huge difference in the quality of the link.

    Why do you want to get a link from an inner page instead from the main page if this what you are thinking about , then I may be able to answer the question a little better ...

    The other guys are right, the main page with the pg rank of 4 would be better provided that it does not have over 50 outbound links already then the link juice diminishes when page has to many outbound links going out ....

    Depending on what your objectives are will determine what links you should get and from whom ...

    Nope, you will not get the link juice of the main page of that website. You will always get the sharing of the landing page link juice. Better you should check the link -

    Well I had hired "someone" on here to build some tier 1 high quality links pointing to my site Well.... I started checked the supposed "high quality" tier one links and 80 % were to high pr sites BUT the actual pg the link or anchor text was on was on PR NA. OR 0. And they're trying to convience me that I would get the link juice from the High ranking home pages. That's why I just wanted to make sure.

      That's what spammers always say.

      If there is no link path from the homepage to the page that carries your link, you are getting nothing better than a PR 0 or PR n/a link. The PR of the homepage means nothing. If there is a path from the homepage to the page with your link, the more links it takes to get there, the more the PR will be diluted as well.

      The person you bought the links from is using a common shady sales technique that a lot of link sellers use. The go by the PR of the homepage when they say they are selling high PR links. They do it all over the place here and places like Fiverr.

    As others have said, a link from a PR0 page is PR0. Even if the domain is PR3, PR4, PR5, etc. I see a lot of people claiming that a link from a PR5 domain is the same as a link from a PR5 page. It's not.

    Since you say that your link is on Example.com/rubberduck, you will get the benefit of the PR-4 domain as well. The important thing is the page must be lined to the homepage as Mike said.
