Hello warriors

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience about keyword density? I'll be sharing my own experience with you. My keyword density for my main keyword was 4%, but my serp ranking was horrible! So I came upon an article saying that google considers anything above 2% as span.

So I changed by density to 2% and turned up at 2nd place!

If anyone knows anything about this please share, if not you will have to concentrate on keyword density it can greatly reduce your rankings!

I think there is a lot more point to consider than just density. . .

Here are some good rules to follow (out side of pure density):

#1 - Write at least 1 paragraph with out your main keyword
#2 - Make sure to bold your keyword at least once
#3 - Your main keyword should be in your H1 tag
#4 - Try to format your link with your main keyword in it (example http://www.yourdomain/main-key-word.html)

Just make sure you put your main keyword in your article title, make sure you have your main keyword in the first and last paragraph of your article. Write for people not google and you will have words that are on your topics and related to your niche.
You should use your keywords as anchor text in your bio box.
Follow these guidelines and you should be able to rank for your keywords, as long the competition is not to high.

Keyword density can be 2-6% and you can still rank at the top. It depends on where you put the keywords in terms of the H tags and try to spread them evenly throughout your content.

Keyword density is not "bunk", as a previous posted said. However, it is simply just a guideline, not a hard and fast rule.

The biggest problem is there is no standard definition for calculating keyword density! One person's algorithm is different from the next, so that's one major issue there.

I use KD when I'm first optimizing a page because I want to see the frequency of my main keyword phrases float to the top. This is especially important when you look at the two and three word phrases. Sometimes I don't realize that non-important two and three word phrases show up more often than my targeted keyword phrase. So I go and fix all the phrases that I don't want showing up so often.

Use it as a guideline... that's all. It's just one more tool in the SEO toolbox... but it's not the most important tool.
