Hi all, I need some help in regards to vbulletin forums and seo. VB has an option to use seo friendly urls, i.e. from "showthread.php?t=12345" to "showthread.php?12345-Thread-Title". If a forum were to change about 50,000 threads to the friendly seo option, what would be the seo implications, if any?

Obviously all 50,000 urls would be renamed automatically but what would Google say about that?

Anyone actually done anything like this with vbulletin?

basically Google will need to reindex all those new links. If you have a sitemap.xml you can submit to google webmaster. Having a descriptive url rather than numbers can only help you from an SEO point of view. The only downside is that if you have lots of backlinks pointing to those old posts then you will lose all those link juice +/- traffic. I am not sure if you can setup an .htaccess to redirect old post link to new post links

I am not 100% sure but I believe vbulletin redirects automatically from the non-friendly url to the friendly one. Sort of like wordpress does.
