Sites bounce back after 6 months...

Hi all,

Remember the 'EMD update' (Panda/Penguin updates) back in September? A few of my sites tanked in Google rankings and no matter what I did, the sites still remained in 100 + positions. After a month, I gave up on them. Well all of a sudden, they've bounced back for their main keywords, even though I've not touched them for 5 or so months!

Anyone else found this? It seems to mark 6 months since those updates.

  • Yes, I had an EMD website for local keyword nowhere to be found in google.ca and then all of the sudden when I deleted all my content and took it off my hosting account it went to number 1!

I put the website back on hosting and put all content back up and for now it still number 1 in google.ca and .com for the main keyword!
  • Over the years experiencing personally firsthand more then several Google updates I can certainly tell you this type of pattern of bounce back is nothing new after roll out of a update.

Some Search Engine Wars Live through:
    • Buffy — June 2007
    • Caffeine (Preview) — August 2009
    • Negative Reviews — December 2010
I'm saying this not only from my personal experience, but also the comparison results that were collected from industry leaders as well as polls and market interaction over time.

Data Resources:You'll begin to recognize these patterns on your own as this particular pattern is certainly not the only one, and there are several that are very important. If you wish to be successful in the short-term, as well as the long-term game of SEO.

Although these patterns are nothing new there are some new changes being implemented in Google.

The beginning to shift into a new strategy in making some moves that may look desperate to others, but in fact they are strategies that they have held off on until the right moments. Think youtube buy out and how it effected SEO the same is happening with social media and e-commerce.
    Referencing:
    • Google Buys Social Advertising Startup Wildfire Interactive For $250 Million
    • Google Buys E-Commerce Company Channel Intelligence for $125 Million
These changes will drastically affect not only SEO, but may abolish their pay per click listing model altogether.

It would be my highest recommendation not to be sucked into Google's publicized hype and/or recommendations rather focus on true experience to direct where your focus should be in the SEO industry.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • God for you. A lot of EMD's have went to hell after the Sept. updates...
  • lots of websites are recovered from EMD update, few sites of mine recovered in month of February but few are still not ranking well.
