Google experts: How many posts a week on my site to keep Google happy?

I would post at least one a week, and make sure that your keywords are the same keywords used in your title. Try the WP plug-in All-In-One SEO (If you have wordpresss).

The more you can produce, better will be for your website’s ranking. If you can post a new article everyday, this will be very good. If you can post more than one, this will be excellent.

However, you have to keep the quality of your posts and give real information to the public to be considered a real expert by your visitors. Don't write for Google. Write for demanding human beings who won't waste their time reading your words if they are not really meaningful.

As with most things SEO it really depends on your site; there isn't any specific number but it has largely to do with your niche, your site authority, and your site structure.

We have had websites ranking on the first page with no fresh content; these are mostly business pages where a new page each week won't really make sense. However the content cater to the users and they don't bounce.

We have another blog that is a simple affiliate site which is still on the first page months after we stop posting content. However when the content was irrelevant and users start bouncing (several months back) we had to update the content...else the site ranks was decreasing.

What you should perhaps be more concern about is how long your user's are staying on your page. No point churning out one or two articles per week if they will be subpar; rather do one article every two week if you can really get something juicy your user's will want!

Of course having an active site with new content weekly still does have it's benefit and it's more you can work with your site over time; it should also help with your site authority if done properly but focus on making content that reduce bounce rate.

(at the same time with some affiliate sites, we try to stage the content distribution to keep things fresh especially when we're doing a new SEO campaign)

Post everyday - i'm assuming you have a blog. Hopefully you dont mind writing everyday. But if you want to do free marketing (seo included)... you're going to have to develop content on a consistent and daily basis.

Be consistent - that is the key element.
My sites, where I am consistent are more productive than those where I am not.

Just do what youre capable of, and what your readers enjoy.

Forget about publishing just for the sake of an algorithm.

You need to keep up with the Jones. If your competitors post two articles a week, you should do as least as much (unless you beat them with other metrics). If they post ten, you should post ten. This is niche and competition specific.

I've tested this 10 ways to Tuesday and I can tell you that it makes NO difference whatsoever.

Do you know anyone who says, "I love this site so much...they update 4 times per week!"

Of course not.

And it's the same with Big G. They have more than enough content. They want to show users THE BEST content there is.

Just look at a site like Social Triggers. Dude updates twice per month and gets insane Google traffic.

Why?

Because he posts awesome stuff.

Posting good content is the key, but posting good, relevant content everyday or every 2-3 days is the key to success.

Part of the confusion of assessing optimal posts per week is that it is impossible to differentiate between causation and correlation of traffic with regards to posts per week.

Without too much guesswork, I go for one post a week minimum. For newer sites, one post per day until content level is up to satisfaction.

I find that updating content rather than adding new content does the trick.

Posting frequency will make a difference in your blog's growth. Not sure how it impacts SEO but imagine the more posts your write the quicker Google will recognize your site. Have read that 300 word minimum post is beneficial for blogging.

3-5 posts per day for aggressive growth.
1 post per day for moderate growth.
2-3 posts per week for slow growth.

Believe John Romaine had a good point that each post you write is like building a net. The more posts you write, the more entry points you have for your site via Google. So the more fish you'll catch in your net.

Andy, I find after all the google updates that have recently passed social media seems to be the key, so my opinion would be to keep your blog updated on a frequent basis like china key mentioned, this is a great way to build a strong following of readers.

also each post you make I would try to make it interacting with your readers ... ask them a question at the end of your post and have them comment, the more comments, shares and likes you get on your blog the quicker you will rise in the search engines.

Not all niches are the same for how much content & how often you need to be posting new content.

I'm in an evergreen niche, my content never goes out style & is focused on an industry standard that's been around since the early 1980's. The content is still popular/compatible in this niche in 2013.

I have 3 sites in the same niche, my best site is around 6 years old, I haven't posted a single new page on that one site for over a year. I still rank for a few of the best traffic keywords & thousands of longatails in the SERPs. My earnings have doubled/tripled for my main site.

When I first started my main site years ago I was posting new content/pages just about every day but that was only because I was interested in the niche & my traffic was interested that I was sharing with them what I was doing.

I know exactly what made my main site so popular with traffic, the fact that I posted non-stop for such a long time & still provided content that I would/did personally use for myself. At the time I didn't care about SEO, I was bringing in a very consistent 3,000 unique laser targeted traffic per day from a single niche forum I didn't own, that traffic is still very consistent 5-6 years later. Over time I diversified my traffic sources. One of my best traffic referring pages is from a different niche forum that I've never even signed up for, I'm not a member of that forum, one of my traffic posted the link & the traffic keeps flowing into my site.

I keep preaching about niche forum traffic & how consistent the traffic flow is, obviously the money site has to be useful on it's own otherwise it would be a waste of time considering traffic is pretty smart in 2013 compared to the gullible days of the late 90's.

Sites like celebrity sites are just too much work, you would have to post non-stop for the rest of your life to keep traffic interested in the content, forget that, I'm in this for recurring income & one time work.

If you are posting 100% original content then I suggest you post several days a week that are SEO optimized like internal linking and don't always use your keywords you can spin or use long tail keywords that is somewhat near your main keywords.

Try to post news everyday on your site, you will get best result from Google

The number of your post is totally dependent on the demand of your Niche to keep your visitors interested.


Posting everyday will not help at all if no one is going to read your post.

The more quality posts you would create the more benefit you would get, there is no doubt to it, the thing is you need to do it regular basis.

I used to think a lot. But personally, I tweaked and tested, and found that one long, quality post a week, with the rest of the week SEOing that post and a few other older posts yielded me the best SEO results.

One or two good quality posts will do. I publish one article per week.

Do it naturally. Do not post too many in a single day, Just post for your readers. If they like and enjoy to read your post then post Regularly. One or Two post in a day is better but you need to do it regular basis. Suppose today you post 3 or 4 content but Yesterday your post was 0.

yeah, I think you only need to focus on having original content, that your readers know that it can't be found anywhere else, that way they will recommend it, keep coming and that's good traffic

I post around 4 to 5 article daily (Current affairs website) and believe me I got a good response from Google.

Posting for SEO purposes is just a big no. Post for your readers, not to make google happy

It depends on how compelling your blog post is. I saw many bloggers who seldom publish new blog post and yet they are ranking high in Google. I guess it is a matter of quality not in quantity. Think of your readers first then Google will do the rest.

I do posts twice a week one on-page and one off-page.

It help my blog to crawl even faster.

One per day is the best the Content should be most effective as well as high Quality. So that readers can easily get it.

As many times as you can, you can't post to much.

Well, you want to have at least 10 posts on your website to be taken seriously by the search engines. Then, one new post a week will make your website seem active and the search engines will spider your site on a regular basis to determine your rankings.

Keep in mind that webpages are not the only pages that rank in Google. You should focus on ranking your Videos in YouTube which connect to your website. get a good video course to learn more.

Just get ONE video course. You don't need 10 of them.

It's much harder to rank webpages for keywords these days unless you're in a very small niche like "how to training alaskan huskies to roll over an play dead".

You might be able to rank easily for this long tail keyword.

Stop worrying about Google. Focus on the user and make them happy.

One thinks must be remember- Google doesn't like quantity without Quality. Submit link simultaneously and continuously basis.

Forget frequency. If your content isn't good, then it's all worthless. I averaged like 1 post a month on one of my blogs. I didn't see the overall picture increase. What I did see is the good post rank well. The best has had over 150,000 views since this time last year (80%+ search traffic) and outranks AOL/Entrepreneur.com. It gets 800 views a day and about 100 outbound clicks.

Go and see what the guys in your niche that are ranking have done. Then do it better.

Just focus on quality, rest number does not much matter. We are posting 2 posts per week and getting pretty much better results.

At least 1 a week is recommended.

Google is a bitch ass and doesn't care how much of an article you give to her daily.

In my opinion it is dependent on the industry and niche. Certain niches require rapid updates. Of course, you should always update your site when there is other information that you would cover to be an expert in your field.
