SEO Question

Right now I am ranking in the 15-30 range for 50 keywords that deal with different parts of the same topic.

I have one page for each keyword, because of the what the articles are about, and each page has about 200 words on it, fully optimized. Should I write more information, should I update the current pages?

There isn't very much more content that I can write about each topic.

I'm trying to get all of them to page 1. Any ideas?

    From my experience, I would say feed Google with more content. Make sure you are not over-optimize your content. Also remember that you can rank for a keyword that is not on your content as well (with link building/gathering/earning).

    I would recommend to go for at least 500 words content + some youtube videos (you can upload your own videos and create channel on youtube and place those videos on your site) + add some images and etc to make it more eye-catchy.

    Note : I had a client, he has very thin site and has good well written content, he had got the ranks quickly - Of course competition is comparatively less.

    If you need to rank then you'll probably want to build more quality links.

    That being said, the foundation of an SEO campaign is great content.

    And unless you're dropping some next-level brevity shit, 200 words probably won't cut it.

    I'd bump that up to AT LEAST 800 words if you can swing it.

    I'm going to have to do some thinking on ways to make the content longer...

    The keyword I'm ranking for is one of the aspects of my website, and what kind of content besides blog posts can I create for it on my website that would make it look better in Google's eyes?

    YouTube videos are a GREAT idea, and I'm definitely going to start working on making a bunch.

    Sam,

    I would say that you should make any content longer if you can but not at the expense of quality. Don’t just add a lot of useless information or words to make it longer. If some things have to be short then leave them that way.

    You could also start a blog and generate more content that way. It is not uncommon for even reputable well-made websites to only have a small amount of text content on each page. Those pages may not ranks as well but you can create blog pages that will rank better if you can come up with more information to convey on those pages.

    Adding more content isn't really SEO and won't have direct impact on your ranking.

    Work on getting quality backlinks from good sites to your site and see how the result will be.

      @johnben1444 I have to respectfully disagree with you.

      Adding more quality content is absolutely an element of on-page SEO. Search engines desire relevant content to accurately respond to the queries which they receive. As such, adding more relevant content is indeed SEO.

      Of course, getting quality backlinks from relevant authority sites is the off-page aspect of SEO.

      I am not trying to call you out. I just want to make sure that people understand the importance of content on their websites as part of the SEO process.

      Hence, I share the same sentiments as @Backlinko on this subject.

    Interlink your pages the way Wikipedia does. More content isn't necessarily better, as Yukon pointed out with the example of How Stuff Works (250 to 300 words per page).

    @Carl Brown- I'm definitely going to work on the framework for the links. I don't have any links at the moment in any of the posts, and I definitely need to fix this. Thank you!

    Just some more details: I'm ranking in 11-30 range for over 50+ long tail keywords. The main keyword I have no chance at ranking for for a long time.

    Should I create content about the main keyword? I can't write another article about each keyword (not because I'm lazy, but because it would make everything very confusing and there would be a lot of duplicate content which I don't want). If I write more about the main keyword, then that should boost the long tail keywords as well, correct?

    Sorry I have so many questions...I'm just trying to figure all this SEO stuff out.
