Web Search API - for free??

Hello, I am brand new with API and would like to know if there is web search API that is completely free of charge and reliable apart from commercial Google or Bing. Using Google is paid and this is my issue - I know that will need more queries but I have no funds. Apologies if this is not a right place to ask, but please help.

  • Web search is too broad of a term. You need to tell us what is your goal with the "web search" you are talking about.

    • I need search results for my web app. More than a million queries per month I believe. + API should be configurable to display news search results.
  • So you're building a web app that scrapes the search results?

    If that's what you want... for an API I'm not 100% sure if there's one that exist that is dedicated to doing that.

    Without an API, there are a few solutions that can help you do that.

  • Google Custom Search API is probably the best suit. Others either charge higher or return less quality results.
