how will a service remove backlinks if they dont know login info? If you think they can do it by requesting admins of the websites where you built backlinks be ensured 90% admins will never reply to your emails to delete accounts. I would recommend you to transfer website contents to a new domain and create a backlink from old domain to new domain. In this way you might get backlink from a juiced website. You might do a redirect too.

PS: If you transfer old contents to new domain then you should delete contents on old domain and write an article for old domain's home page and set a contextual backlink from the article to new domain.

It is advised to remove links manually. If the back links are reported to Google by that service then your site may be penalized.

To remove bad links manually it is very important for your wabsite because good back links is very important to Google consider that. So if you cant remove your bad link by login, mail or other way you can create disvow link and submit in google webmaster.

Best service hands down is linkdelete.com

Linkdetox isn't even a removal company and they charge the same as linkdelete for a simple report!

Ive been with linkdelete since they started advertising on here years ago. I can't recommend them enough.

I disagree on linkdelete, I tried the service and while I paid to have 400 links removed only 26 were successfully removed... That's almost $4 per link.

Never heard of those results with them, I have used them for many campaigns myself and my friends. Most of the time linkdelete gets something like 40% of the links removed. I have personally had as many as 77% of the links removed.

Removeem charges $25 per link removed with a 1k deposit so even at $4 a link thats a bargain. The way I look at it though is that if I want my site to recover its rankings I dont mind paying for someone to fix the problem for me. I mean I spent hundreds each month buying links why would I expect that fixing that problem is free?

For some of business owners time really isnt valuable and emailing hundreds of webmasters and getting in touch with them is no big deal but for me and other business owners that value their time and can spend that time growing my business I'll outsource that work.

And dont get me started on disavow that is a waste of time.

Didn't you just post that you removed your manual Google penalty in the other thread? Sounds like they did a good job helping you, lol.

About the disavow though I can't agree with people suggesting that for removing links. That tool doesn't remove links it only asks Google to ignore them. From what I have tried it has never worked for me either. Sad.

Why not just e-mail the webmaster to remove your link OR use the disavow tool?

However, removing bad links manually would do so than going for any of the services/tools.
Yup, sending a mail to the webmaster indeed helps greater, but not with Disavow tool. Since your site may be affected at times. Just try the former or latter, not the Disavow tool unless it's required.

Disavow should ONLY be the last option.

That's because the disavow tool hasn't shown to be effective. The success stories that have come from link removals and not relying on the disavow tool.

There are a lot of stories on Google's Webmaster forums about people waiting and hoping for some results from a disavow submission. That only wastes their time. They should be first trying to remove the links. Remember Matt Cutts says to use the disavow tool for domains that you cannot get your links removed from and not the other way around.

The best strategy is link removal.

You have to do it manually by emailing those websites owners or the simplest way is disavow.. There is no such tool to remove backlinks.

there are many tools for that, disavow is one of them, but I prefer doing it manually as I've heard that it can be harmful if you use any software to remove links,

    Hi all,

In the effort of removing unnatural links I ran into many services that offer to help. Some examples of what i found:
    hxxp://www.removeem.com
    hxxp://www.linkdelete.com

These are different from services that ask for thousands of dollars to help you get revoked.

after being hit by an unnatural penalty I am reluctant to do anything that's not 100% legit in google's eyes.

My question to the members is – do any of you have experience with these type of services, are they effective and will they help me in getting my penalty revoked?

    Thanks.

If you have a list of all the spam you made to get the penalty. Just load it into WMT and disavow it all.
If you used a provider they should have sent you a report with the urls no?

from what I'm reading Google wants to see you make a real effort to remove these links and only as a last option, after exhausting other avenues you can use the disavow.

That's why I am looking into anything that can help actually removing the links (like these services?) so when submitting a reconsideration I can add a google doc with links that were removed.

Let's assume that we don't have that list, how can we get that? Is there a tool for that?

If you have the list (and I hope you do) hire a VA off of a freelance site like Odesk for a buck or two an hour. Have them plug away at the list for you , make sure you hire one who has done this before and check their progress/speed on a regular basis.

I am leery of disavow always.

Just hire professionals to do it, I used linkdelete and they are great and not thousands of dollars either. I think I spent like $500 on removing links and my penalty with them. Not bad considering I had been buying links for years and spent $500 a month alone on links lol.

Just disavowing links wont work either. You need to remove links. Removeem I cant recommend because they wanted $1,000 deposit and $25 per link removed lol. If I had used their service instead of link delete I would have had to pay them about $25,000 hhaha. $25K vs $500. I think Ill stick to link delete.

I help run Remove'em.. so I just wanted to clear up a slight mistake here. We charge $10 per unique domain for links removed not $25 per link. So if a domain has 1,000 links and we get them removed, the cost is $10. This is for the full-service (hand's off) solution.

There is also a self-serve platform, where you pay $250 or $99/month and you can monitor/manage your outreach efforts on your own. Reach out to me directly if you want a discount.

Well, tell you what rather than using such tools to remove your links I will say try doing this process manually. Yes I means try removing the links manually all by yourself login to your webmaster tool and download all the links pointing to your site make an excel sheet and remove the spammy links one by one emailing the owner of that site and do make a record of it, links that can't be taken down either because the site owner hasn't replied or because of the the owner is asking for money to remove links, put those links to your disavow tool. Once you disavow the links wait from 2-3week and submit a request to the Google for reconsideration by sending the proof of the work that you have done. Wait for a while if you have done the legitimate work then Google will uplift the penalty and you'll be back on track. But if you rather use tools I just can't bet that it is going to work as efficiently as the manual work would do. I know you can see yourself over the ranking for sometime but after that I don't think you can get yourself find anywhere.

Just do it manual, don't go for any server provider. If you have webmaster tools account, then download all the links and do manual research which should be removed.

Once you download all the links, separate the spam links from the sheet and start sending mails to the webmasters manually, do this for at least 3 times. if they not removed your links then submit the links in disavow tool, explaining the dates when you have sent mails to webmasters and the response you got from them.

This is the best way to do link removal and sure you will see difference

Some really bad advice in this thread. If you have a manual penalty then just disavowing will not work, you have to send Google spam team an audit of links that show you have requested webmasters to remove links.

If you have a penguin issue without a manual penalty then its fine to just go ahead and disavow the links.

The only possible tool you can use which "might" help is the Google disavow tool. Other than that, there is not much to do if you don't have any access to your backlinks.

    Hope that helps!
