What do you guys think about buying RELEVANT guest blog posts with a dofollow link back to your site for SEO?

I'm talking about original content, a relevant high PR blog - there shouldn't be any penalties or issues with this for SEO right?

Actually I have done this before. You need to get the URL of the blog they own before you buy though, and do a backlink analysis.

The problem with the offerings on fiverr is that they are really PBNS, Private Blog Networks, and not real guest posts. If you aren't reaching out to blogs and asking them if they would like an original article/point of view then chances are it's not guest blogging and it's a link farm.

    This is my experience.
A lot of the blogs being used for these guest post gigs are new blogs built on expired domains with the sole purpose of selling links.
You will find out within a year that the links will disappear as the domains are not renewed by the owners as they move on to new expired domains to repeat the process.

These gigs are only good for a short term boost.

Let me guess, the seller says your link will be the only link on the page while the same fiverr gig has 300 positive reviews?

Well I must disagree. I am selling guest post on one of my travel blog that is pr3( weak )
It is clean website full of good content.
Reason for this is I dont have time for this website and traffic is only 30 - 40 visitor per day.
At least this is no linkfarm for sure and I only start this gig few days ago to try out fiverr.
No sale yet and I only accept good content with one link. It must be travel related.

    Thanks for all the responses!

It seems that a large majority of these guest blog posts on fiverr are more or less fake link farms - so my question is, how about WSOs? There are extremely popular ones with great testimonials here. Are these legit?

Ugh, Google might have not said that buying "guest blog post" is bad, but they're going to find out sooner or later that people are doing it to manipulate search results. Guest blogs are supposed to be done naturally. Matt Cutts already said guest blog posts doesn't help the rankings, maybe that's the start of penalizing people who are buying it.

I own and manage several blogs, and I offer guest posting gigs on fiverr.. why..?

Because quality content is created for my web-property..

But more than that.. once I publish a guest post, the 'benefactor' of the 'backlink' will eventually follow up with backlinks and traffic for that specific webpage.. which in turn impact the organic rankings and traffic of the blogs..

In one way or another, I have achieved more than the 4 USD profit..!

Lots of good SEO service providers downsize their service into a $5 gig. To say nobody on Fiverr offers good SEO is ridiculous. No premium SEO provider has tapped into the huge amount of traffic Fiverr gets?

ROTFLMAO! Maybe that's why they stay "premium."

      "Getting" traffic is not SEO.

Mindless, useless traffic is exactly what fiverr excels at.

      A race to the bottom!

Anyone who opens their money sites up to some 4-buck-chuck on
      fiverr, is a fool.

I think our definition of "premium" is very different. A provider that I'd consider "premium" couldn't even push a button and send a mail for that $4 they're getting. They're billing from several hundreds to more than $1k for a day of services - and that's for just one person. (This is Northern European level of costs here, but can't be that different in the states.)

You might say that entrepreneurs don't have that kind of overhead. Well, I'd need to get 20-25 Fiverr gigs done for each hour to it be worthwhile.

I'm not trying to trash Fiverr, it's obviously very good for simple stuff. For example, someone who has the right software might be able to generate a nice SEO report for you. Proper optimization just tends to require analysis and preparation, and those take time.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

Relevant High Quality Links gets Rankings. I've done both Natural and Paid Links for my Websites. Both have worked, Paying for links is a lot quicker to get results. But when paying for links. You have to do some research.

A few things I look at:

    1. Domain Age
    2. Google PR and make sure its not fake (Google PR is not the most reliable indicator these days)
    3. SEOmoz Domain Authority
    4. Majestic Trust and Citation Flow
    5. Site is indexed and not penalized

Basically we want the links coming from Non Spammy Sites

Everyone need to be aware that Matt Cutts only mentioned that the guest post done low in quality will be penalized! I feel quality guest posts works well no matter what algo updates to be made in near future!

Fiverr is good for a lot of things but it's probably the last place I'd look for something like guest posts.

Reach out to owners of good and active blogs in your niche who are not advertising guest posts and make them offer. I would largely avoid anyone actively trying to sell guest posts.
