Hi Guys

Just checked one of my domains and I have 1132 backlinks and its a PR3 after about 6 months.

What can I do to my site (or domain) desirable and valuable?
#backlinks

Can you tell us about the keywords? What keywords occur prominently in the anchor text of the links, and what keywords occur in the tags of the linking sites? This would help us.

Short term CPA and AdSense will product more results. Longer term put in a drop-down squeeze box and get their emails. Start a weekly info letter based around your niche. You will have 100's of subscribers in no time. Then monetize the list with CPA.

Hi Peter - thanks for responding

When I talked about adding value, I was meaning what can I do to make it even more desitable to a purchaser.

Any idea of the value (ball park figures are ok) of such a domain / site in its present state?

I don't want to mention actual domains at this stage as my strategies will be known to all eagle eyed people on here - and there are a few of 'em

I have several dynamite ideas that would make such a site highly profitable. Unfortunately, I can't reveal them here because then my strategies will be known to all eagle eyed people on here. Sorry.

I would be interested to see what site you are talking about first. Prices can range from visitors, quality of those visitors, do you retain members?, How active is it? and a host of other things to account for.

I don't much focus on the PR, I focused on the traffic and keyword selection.

In general, the value is going to be some multiple (usually between 8 and 10) of its projected monthly earnings. If you're not sure how much the site could make each month if it were well-monetized, you could try looking for sites in the same niche on BIZMP or SP. Even if they don't have similar PR/link stats, you could see how they're making money (i.e. ads, affiliate products, etc.) and how much traffic they're getting. This should help you make a rough estimate of your site's earning potential under the direction of a buyer who could monetize it well. Re-scale that to match your own traffic stats; and then expect something in that range.

One surefire way to make more money from the sale is to maintain a long and accurate history of traffic and earnings, so that customers don't have to price in the probability that the traffic and earnings figures are exceptional--not expected.

The best thing building up PR is good for is selling links. Beyond that - I have PR0 sites that outperform PR4 sites in terms of traffic and profitability. It's all about the niche!

PR is pointless for rankings. I have PR0 sites at number one.

Quality Back link and traffic are most important for any web site.I don't much focus on the PR,because PR is not a big factor for any web site.

You want to get more visitors, Is it? Ok, then try to get your site within top #5 on google for your keywords. Try to get it for TOP#5 for at least 10 keywords, that will be more than enough for you to get more and more visitors, Apart from this, by participating on niche related forums or blogs, I am sure you will get some direct visit from there by clicking your link over there. Try to get more diggs for your site in digg.com as well as more stumbles on stumbleupon.com, those two bookmarks sites too give your more and more direcet visitors from those sites.

I've always thought PR was important, but it's really not. I'll take a PR 0, top spot result for a KW over a PR 10, page 2 result anyday. It's all about finding your niche and making sure you dominate it.
