i will try to rank for a keyword in my own language for blogger templates
and i will place a link in the footer with my brand name

and there is also
there is one other trick people use which they add an additional link somewhere in the template and make it as hidden image which witch makes it harder to find by the user and delete
do you think it's a good idea or better stay away ?

any help would be much appreciated

So you are going to trick people into linking to you?

    Yeah, sounds great.

...creating links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page, otherwise known as unnatural links, can be considered a violation of our guidelines. Here are a few common examples of unnatural links that may violate our guidelines:
Widely distributed links in the footers or templates of various sites
Personally I don't see anything wrong with taking credit for something you own/created (ex: template footer link). Technically anyone that downloads a free template already knows the footer link exist because they have the source code & assuming the link shows on the live webpage/s plus there's usually a demo page. Sometimes WP themes even have a checkbox on the admin to turn off the footer credit link.

I guess the difference here is, OP is using words like trick & hidden in a negative way towards his own traffic.

Tip: Respect your traffic because return traffic is 10 times easier to get than unique traffic.
