Hard Selling

I have a question for you. When was the last time you were at a bar relaxing with friends and someone pitched you on their new line of Doggy Biscuits? Probably never.

So, why is this the case with so many people on social media? Why is that Internet Marketers forget what social media truly is for and try to go against the grain? Don't you think someone would be a lot more open to you and what you have to offer when you resonate with them?

Vibes are certainly an important factor when it comes to social media marketing. People can smell bullcrap a mile a way just by the way you approach them.

Rememer, people don't like to be sold to. Not unless you're Wal-Mart

Trying to sell too soon


This is something that can really make selling harder for you. It's a bit offensive and can cause people to put up a lot of walls around you and what you're trying to sell.

No better way to cause resistance within someone than to try to sell them on something WAY before you build a solid foundation with them. And the last thing you want is resistance when it comes to you and whatever it is you are trying to sell.

Resistance is very similar to trust... once you take someone to the point where they cant trust anything you say to them is for their greater good because you're constantly trying to shove something down their throats... You've probably ruinned all chances of selling anything to them at all!

Spamming

This simply never works and only gets you ignored and blocked on whatever social media platform you're on.

Think of a time where you were once spammed by someone on social media... chances are they were trying to sell something just like you. Did you ever buy anything from that person let alone speak to them?

My guess is no. Spamming people just doesn't work and 9 times out of 10 will get any social media account you have banned!

Using automated software

Lastly, I want to touch on automation tools. This is a topic that you're either for or against. Personally Im all for automated software, when used correctly. All too often Automation software gets abused by spammers and get a bad rep but they're not so bad... they save you the most value asset you have in your life.. TIME!

Time gone, can never be gotten back. Hence, I like to think of automation tools like mini virtual assistants that are off in the trenches working for you while your away doing the things you love the most.

    Great article indeed. People mistakenly think Social media as another way to be officious and prompt their customers to do the economic transactions way before building trust.
    Social Media is about building community, engaging them, influencing them with valuable content, garnering their trust, triggering word of mouth about your brand and amidst all these: Achieving your business objectives.

      Consistent posting on a day to day basis, with a mix of post content types, link, image, text and share helps establish your page as a real social media page rather than something someone threw together to get clicks to a CPA ad or something.

      When you are posting 10 times a day or so, on a consistent basis, you can easily have one of those posts each day be for something you are selling. Even if that something is a sign up to your list.

        Yes, you are totally right! People can smell BS a MILE away.. and certainly can see when a social media page is going to add value to their lives or just try to squeeze a buck out of them.

        And 10 times a day or so is a great number.. Keeps you relevant in your audience's feed. With a mixture of posts you can REALLY get some high quality engagement

      Haha, indeed... indeed. I do think Automation in moderation is a great way to save you time and expand your social media presence. It's just that people over do it and ruin it for others.

    I see social media as a way to build your personal brand effectively. There's a lot of people just trying to sell, sell, sell, but these same people never really engage with their followers.

    Be engaging and be helpful. Reply to people when they comment or tweet you and join in on conversations.

    Then, when you do promote your offer, it's going to a community of followers that already trust you.

      You're dead on Drem! When people connect with you and trust you... you're naturally going to sell and be successful...

      For instance... I'm really into network marketing and I use social media as a way to engage with people. I've had MORE success just being a normal person and engaging like a regular human, than I've had spamming and tagging people in pictures about my company all day.

      Sometimes just being normal seems a little too simple and people over complicate things. Yes it takes time this way but the pay off is 100% much better!
