Using Facebook Ads to Get Viral & Press

Hey Warriors!

If you're trying to get media outlets and press to a publish a story for you or your client, doing a PR Campaign with Facebook Ads may be an idea worth exploring.

I've had a lot of success with using this strategy to create viral campaigns and it helped me generate a lot of inbound leads & inquiries.

The 1st step is to create a story worth talking about.
If you don't nail that down first, then the rest of the steps won't matter.

Once you have created an interesting story and ad creative for your Facebook Ad, you can start setting up audience targeting.

Here are some different targeting variants you can play around with:
1) Job Titles (aim for positions that are associated with media) - such as Journalist, Writers, Producers, Content Creators, Etc
2) Media Company Employers (TechCrunch, NowThis, BuzzFeed, Vice, Mashable)

And lastly, make sure your page is optimized for conversations
ie. listing your email on your Facebook Page & setting up Messenger for your page.

How much are you spending on these ads?
Sending out a press release is generally not that expensive if you have some decent contacts.
But the concept behind your method is one that I for sure like.

I was able to get over 30 media features with one campaign with $100 ad spend.
After running those campaigns, I maintained an on-going relationship with those PR Contacts so I generally do press releases now since I already have the contacts.

If I didn't I would do the Facebook Ad Campaign + Manual Outreach as well.

Makes sense. I could probably get over 30 media features with $100 in press releases, but the on-going relationship is for sure where the value is here.

I just thought I might share this. Its a free method for gaining organic traffic to your Facebook ads.

Create a Facebook page to gain organic viral traffic. Facebook pages are able to become visible in search engines. Get a good keyword for your page and place it in the url as your facebook name. Add it in the description of your page and try and gain as many fans as you can by sending emails, sahring it on websites, forums etc and you will gain viral traffic to your business through your Facebook pages.

The multi product carousel ads are quite powerful and allows you to showcase up to 10 product images and/or videos, headlines, links, and calls to action in a single ad unit. It is best suited for eCommerce businesses looking to promote multiple products from their online store, or for marketers looking to promote different posts and offers to see what works and attracts leads with their audience.
