'Safe' way to get more Twitter followers

Personally I have always kept to 200 follows max per day across all accounts.

RT'ing and using hashtags relating to big time tweeters in your niche can also help well. Look into setting up RSS feeds on your Twitter account from Top Niche Leaders from their Blogs using TwitterFeed.com. In advanced settings you can include a suffix something like "via @biguserid. Works good for me. Have over 20,000 followers on my @Steve_SEO_UK account and I'm not endlessly clicking follow, follow, follow every day. Hope this helps.

Provide something people want - good content or links will cause a mass following - and best of all, you dont need to constantly follow other people.

Maybe you should start following fewer people when the account is recently created. And you should add some content to it on a daily basis or once every 2-3 days. Start following less than 100 people on the first day of creating your account. That way you shouldn't raise any flags from Twitter.

dont follow anymore then 200, im not sure about the 250 but keep it 200 a day.

Don't follow more than 200 a day. This has been effective for me so far! But start off with following less than a 100.

What are you trying to achieve by having lots of followers?

It's much better to have 100 followers who take action on your tweets than 100,000 followers who are just robots / spam follow accounts.

Use twiends to get more followers, you follow people to earn "seeds" and you can offer those seeds to gain more followers, good luck.

- be active and tweet at the right time
- post interesting content ( tweet something that catch your followers interest)
- tweet trending topics
- follow people with several active followers and @mention them
-use hashtags in your post to make it searchable.

Just make positive compliments to others and ask that they follow your tweets so that you can keep in touch.

You should not follow more number of followers continuously.
That will consider as a spam. So , some accounts will be suspended automatically.
Keep twitter account in your website , if you have one.
You can increase your followers by this method.
And you can advertise twitter profile url using ppc methods.
If you are following less number of people , follow only same interest people like you.

So that you can increase your followers naturally.
Post tweets regularly, for not loosing your existing followers.

Twitter says you can add 400 per day. But in reality, stick to 150 until you build about 1000 followers than you can go up to 250.

I would stick to 250, except if you post very relevant stuff on a daily basis, re-tweet, and look like a real human at all time.

I use tweet adder. Use it very slow in the beginning, follow 100 people a day, no more. Once you reach 2000, you can up to 200 or 300 a day. I have 30,000 followers doing this.

If you got suspended by aggressive following then everything is there in that sentence, just take it slowly and steady

I read somewhere that the magic number is 100 also. however, i've definitely gone over that on a few days with no problems, so maybe it's about the consistency.
