I never thought of Facebook as a retail tool but it's starting to happen.

A message gets sent to 61 million people and it influenced 340K of them, thats a response rate of 0.5% (1 half of 1 percent), that sucks.

How much did it cost to send that message?

I get what you're saying, but that's shotgun marketing. And 340k people responding is nothing to sneeze at. Especially if it cost nothing to reach them.

It's not always about conversion rates. It's about ROI.

I'm willing to bet those 340k people produced a positive ROI.

I think it's cool that all you have to do is like a page and you get updated to everything that page posts.

        For example Walmart.

I liked them and now I hear about certain products that they market during certain times of the year.

Not only do people share their opinion about it, but they just might get up and go out to buy one.

This is what happens when people who go on facebook everyday see your updates. They want to be involved.
