i've been running fb ads for a week now here's a screenshot of today's progress so far. Some key points to note:

1) I have 2 ads running and have tested both with different headlines and images throughout the week. I sorta know which image/headline combo to continue with.
2) I began with CPC, but switched to CPM after 3 days
3) 2 days ago I read that Facebook has a screwy method for showing ads. Apparently the better performing one will be put first. To counter this, I increased the ad spend to the not-so-great ad, and decreased the better performing one.
4) my daily budget is extremely conservative - $3 as this is my first time into it.

At the moment, I have no benchmark so I don't know if getting 4 likes over a week is good, bad, or humiliating? Up until 2 days ago, I had 5 likes but i posted something dumb and lost 1. Based on my scenario, I'd like to get opinions from the veterans..

Thanks!

kudos for getting started and taking action! i just have a few tips for you.
    - testing different images will have the biggest impact on your conversions
    - $3 budget is not nearly enough! dedicate at least $10 a day to learn. i'd recommend testing with cheaper traffic from foreign countries.
    - once you've figured out your best image and your best headline. include a call to action in your ad like: "click like" or "click here"
    - depending on the niche, i usually get 100 likes per dollar spent. but for starters, try to aim for 10 likes for every dollar spent. 10 cent cpc is very realistic goal for now!

are you setting your ads for CPC or CPM? Also, are you turning on Sponsored ads?

4 likes in a week? How many people are you targeting? What niche?

    Some great advice here guys!

I'm no expert but I'm running a few campaigns now. I'm currently achieving nearly 3% CTR and £0.06 CPC. Trying to get it down to £0.00 (it can be done!).

    Here's what I've learnt:

    1) you need to laser target your audience. I find the sweet spot to be 200-400K reach.

    2) tie your ad to a FB fan page. That's how you get super cheap CPCs.

    3) Image is everything! Test 3 campaigns with different images. Keep the title and body the same.
