{SOLUTION} Facebook Ad Manager How to get your account back!

Hello everyone,
Well I'm pretty new here but I decided to make my first contribution to everybody here and I know that you Facebook marketers will thank me for days. It's generally really really really simple but I thought I tell you guys specifically!
Here goes nothing!

So, you've probably set up a Facebook ad and then gotten your ad manager account banned! Well I have too! Actually it happened to me on New Years.
On my first account, I set up my ad, and since I was extremely unfarmiliar with what to do and what to write on it I changed it being very paranoid about (4 times). I log out and then log back in later to check on it when I log in they tell me "There is some suspicious activity on your account and we are currently asking you to change your password and blah blah" then they said "All funds are currently stopped because of this" That's when I got mad! So I tried to appeal and appealed as quickly as possible. 3 hours later, I get an email, "Thank you for your time, but we have kept this account suspended to ensure your safety and the safety of other facebook users".

So I thought game over...
Then I realized, not yet.

So I used my brother account to set up the same ad. I changed the link because I was able to end the words past the backslash ("/"). I signed up on that account. I used the SAME IP. Same computer even (laptop technically). I set up the account perfectly, and at the end I was asked for funding source. I then used a Visa. Because on the last account I tried my personal Paypal. Nothing was connected to my personal account that would somehow link me to my brothers account. Guess what? I got banned, again. Since my brother signed in on his facebook from a different computer in the same household.
Well, that's when I appealed the decision.

In the appeal, make sure you click YES when they ask have you tried to make another ad.
Make sure you click YES when they asked have you tried/added a funding source.
Make sure you hit YES for all the options to tell them that you've tried everything.
Now in my case I did not use my Visa but my brother's. So everything was linked to his.
Then the empty spaces they give you for explanations, DO NOT MISS THIS.
The first paragraph will ask you if you've noticed any suspicious activity on your account. This is where you let loose. Tell them specifically that you've never had ANY suspicious activity on your account. Tell them that you're the only person who has access to the account. Tell them your mistake whether you used a different computer or whether you changed the ad to many times. BE SURE to tell them that your antivirus is up to date and that you only access https sites to protect your identity and all your valuable passwords. Include all that crap into your paragraph and then finish off with
"I hope that you guys can allow me to repost my ad as I believe this is a great misunderstanding. I'm extremely sorry for the bother and I hope you have a great day,
Your name"
This paragraph has to be big, make sure you emphasize on how you protect your identity online and how smart your are at doing so without blankly stating it.

This is what I did, and they gave me my key to freedom. Don't mess up though. You only have one appeal so make it count. And make sure you're on an established facebook account, I would use your personal that's even better. I now have to use my brother's since I'm screwed now but that's fine. Don't make the same mistakes from me and learn!

Don't forget to hit "Thanks" if this helped you out!
I was so happy I finally figured this out and I hope you will be too!

  • After receiving a lot of requests from people to help with getting their disabled Facebook ads accounts back, I put everything together I could find about this into a more than 2,500 word tutorial showing what you can do about a Facebook ads account that is banned or disabled for suspicious activity in this guide below.

Thank you for creating this thread to help people with suspended accounts and sharing your story of what worked!

  • Excellent post! And, thank you for the way you took time to help so many others who have been banned from their Facebook ads account for simply trying to place an ad. It seems this banning has reached epidemic proportions to the point where maybe some Facebook page owners are considering just abandoning the site or finding a safer way to advertise so as not to risk their account.

    • I have appealed by ban multiple times with no luck. I think it got banned because I was trying to set up ads while I was in Thailand. Now I am back in the states and still haven't had any luck getting a response from them except for one email response that they have not responded to for the past two weeks.

  • I agree with the part about appealing using an established account. Although if the account/ads were for one of their "not allowed" verticals, then you may still not get a reply.

    • I made this when all my ads are within their guidelines.
      Otherwise, the possibilities are endless.

    • This is still working! I just got an email in May 2014 saying these steps worked to get an account reopened.

    • Thanks to all who have posted here. My ads account was disabled on my very first ad!

It wasnt in any of the bad verticals like dating or Biz Op it was an ad to a Teespring campaign.

I have appealed but have not heard anything in 3 days.

My account has ben disabled from facebook today.
and i really really prustasted about it..
    i have a question:
Is it safe, using 1 laptop to logins more than 2 facebook account ads?
whether to use a different browser or use a different account user on my netbook?
    note:
i just have one laptop and 1 ip/internet connection and my brother have facebook account with credit card on it..

  • Thanks for the post. I just had my account banned and was looking for info on people who have successfully gotten their accounts reinstated.

I already did one appeal but didn't maximize it to really push for my case. I'm going to try again after reading through a few more guides so hopefully I have a good ending like yours.
