If your still looking for someone, one of my assistants is free and could be put to good use, he's worked with sliders before.
Let us know if your still looking...

Revolution Slider seems insanely complex to me, the doc is done horrible too. I wanted to do something really simple like a post slider and couldn't get over it about the steps involved and how entirely confusing the entire concept of this slider is. (And I am a coder, just saying). I had to uninstall it. Making a post slider using Meta Slider (which I use at the moment) takes me like 10 seconds, I click on the slider, add my slides, paste my info and URL in and I got my slider with my featured posts.

I wonder whether I am the only one who thinks that Revolution slider is entirely confusing to use.

I use Rev Slider quite a bit. (I make websites for a living.) And I think it's really great. However, if you only want to have simple images that are being rotated with simple transitions, there are (as you pointed out) other solutions that are much easier to use and do the job. There are even some great free ones for that.

The real advantage of Rev Slider (or the similarly featured LayerSlider) is that they can use layers so you can have different elements coming on screen at different times, fading out, etc, all on one slide. So for example...you have a background that transitions, then multiple images (PNGs with transparent backgrounds so they all look nice over your BG image) and separate sentences etc that all animate into position over time using a variety of animation styles.

It's not that hard to use either of them, although I find LayerSlider more complex (but also more flexible if you really dig into it.) Both of them are great and can produce really cool results, but they aren't exactly "intuitive" when you haven't used them before.

Just my 2 cents.

What I found more confusing (and sorry, not wanting to derail the thread - see it as a free bump ) - I really only want a basic, although responsive slider for featuring posts.

I haven't seen a slider where I have a button on a POST so I can simply add a post (and preferably the featured image of that post then being automatically used in the slider) to the slider. I mean adding post URLs manually works but it's not really convenient.

Do you know of such a slider maybe?

Revolution slider is awesome, highly flexible.
If you want so basic features why did you buy a premium slider like RS, to me it sounds craziness.
Revolution sliders is the Photoshop like of the sliders plugins
You can have layers: Text, video, images only
you can mix all the layers in a nice backgrounds with lot of delay options so the transitions are more enjoyable.
You can even create "CALL to Action Buttons"

It´s a superb slider, for sure one of the best. I am using it frequently in my projects and never regreated about it.

Of course it takes much more time to configure it and optimizing to your audience, but the gains are unlimited comparing with a basic one....
