John has collated all the information that you ever need to start with 2014 SEO in one place. No matter whether it is onsite SEO, content strategy, local SEO, avoiding Google penalties, disavowing links - it is all in there.

Newbies may find this useful. You have almost instant access to all the buzz words. You can branch out later for deeper analysis.

The best part is at the last. Not new, but the advice about building networks is the right advice for powerful sites that rank.

You also see an angrier tone with the stupider mistakes that other people make. You get to see what mistakes to avoid.

No actual case studies. As someone with experience in the IM and in SEO, I have experience in and exposure to all that is there. But for the mortals at the intermediate stage like myself - the actual case studies matter.

The document can be more useful with links/tips on where to find additional information. This has been done in places, but not everywhere.

The language needs tuning for a formal document. I am sure when the final version comes out, it will only be for the better.



Finally, the amount of information is what will hold back the book. I can say what I want about having more information, or wanting with deeper coverage of the topics - but for doing that you need a book thick enough to scare non-weightlifters.

I've read this guide in a couple of days... And honestly, after reading just the first 2 - 3 pages, it became obvious to me the author actually knows what he is talking about.

I mean, when it comes to SEO, you can find lots of stuff out there, be it tutorials, guides, articles, services... Most of them are here to sell you something or are outdated. Or both.

This isn't the case here. What we have is a complete guide which will tell you what to do from top to bottom. Including outsourcing as there is a whole chapter on how to properly choose an SEO service or company...

Now, if you're looking for someone to tell you sign up here, post this, get a link there - you're not going to get that. Thankfully. Because this would rapidly get over-crowded anyway... What you will get is real knowledge on how to do things on your own.

Many WSOs end up taking virtual dust somewhere on your hard drive... This one will not. It's valuable whether you are a complete beginner or, like me, you just want to refresh your knowledge with the most current strategies that do or do not work (as he also tells you about what NOT to do).

Using the right structure to build high quality links, also what type of backlinks to avoid that can destroy your rankings. How to get out of the sandbox from negative seo. You can edit all this yourself but it will take some time. Option is to outsource a reputable seo co. Valuable tools and Resources are revealed. This is a wakeup call.

All I can say is "wow!" Before reading 2014 SEO Roadmap, I was a complete newbie to search engine optimization; now I'm confident that my site will quickly gain page rank in Google since I implemented the many tips found in a John's guide.

I particularly liked the conversational tone and the screenshots used throughout the book. The how-to for optimizing your articles, as well as how to avoid and handle Google penalties was spot-on! Suggestions for Wordpress SEO plugins and resources for validating your site's info are also included in this jewel!

I would definitely recommend to others seeking quick, no-fluff guidance to getting their site found in Google!
