Thanks for your inquiry Seadragon. As you can appreciate, the number of domain names that are of any value in the .com space is dwindling fast, but I have a knack for finding useful and credible names. The methods I use are often a little random, meaning that I put a lot of thought into what my customer needs them for and what their visitors will perform a search on. Once I find names I do get a Google keyword monthly search value for each domain name, however the decision to purchase a name is in the hands of my customers. I will not register any domain name without my customers approval. Instant random example of my work: If I had a customer that lived in London and they wanted to build a heap of niche sites to service various trade industries, I would find names that would be relevant to the local search market. E.g. If someone wanted a name for a Butcher in London, I might find them a name like butcherlondon.com Appears to have 4,400 local searches per month in the UK or For a London hairdressing salon I might find something like londonhairdressingsalon.com Doesn't have enough searches to warrant a mention, however the chances are you would be able to rank something like this quite well when combined with a local listing. BTW: Both of these domain names were available when I found them for this exercise. Another example: If I was asked to find names that were catchy, specific to a niche and descriptive of what the purpose of the name is for, I would have to get a bit more creative. Maybe something like a SEO guy that wanted to sell the fact that he will get you first spot in a search engine, I might find a domain name like say firstspot.com. If you check the whois record, you will find that I own this domain name and have done so since I started buying domain names back in 1999. I have been doing this for the past 16 years and I am kinda good at it. Please let me know if you want any more information. Best wishes Gordon Russell |
