It’s really difficult to find a competent person who can fulfill your needs in a cost effective manner. If you ever worked with someone outside of the “friend from a friend” circle, then you probably understand my point here.
I cannot emphasize this enough, especially when it comes down to my area of expertise –

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Throughout the years I've had the chance to work with some of the biggest players out there, starting as a call center representative, back when I was a student, ending as an owner of a small business which specializes on IM-niche specific customer care and offers other related assistance to private companies in the US, Europe and Australia.
