One way or another you end up understanding a very simple TRUTH: Even if you’re the best strategist and you have the greatest ideas you can’t do everything on your own. Sooner or later you’re gonna have to hire someone to work on your website, videos and presentations, etc, and this is the point where problems begin. It’s really difficult to find a competent person who can fulfill your needs in a cost effective manner. If you ever worked with someone outside of the “friend from a friend” circle, then you probably understand my point here. I cannot emphasize this enough, especially when it comes down to my area of expertise – CUSTOMER SUPPORT Throughout the years I've had the chance to work with some of the biggest players out there, starting as a call center representative, back when I was a student, ending as an owner of a small business which specializes on IM-niche specific customer care and offers other related assistance to private companies in the US, Europe and Australia. Back then all of them wanted to cooperate with my first employer for one simple reason – LOW COST (this is what you expect to get when you come looking after outsourced customer service in a country like Ukraine). And opting in for that kind of services they ended up having an underpaid “typing monkey”, with a lack of skills and absolutely no motivation to get the job done RIGHT. At some point I decided not to be that monkey and quit my job. This period of life, however made me realize three very important things:
