Web design business dying down

Hey guys,

I am wondering why do you think my web design business is dying down around this time at the year. At the beginning of the year, I had a lot of calls for web design and now it just once a week. Do you think because people aren't really interested in starting business or marketing with websites near the end of the year?

I advertise with craigslist only and trying out social media like facebook.

    I do not think that web design business is dying down! Nowadays every company needs a website and I do not believe that in your area the market is already full

    Anyway I am in the same niche as you are but I live more than 9000miles away from you :-)! I personally think that advertising is the most important part. If you rank in Google in your area you will get more calls and more work you can trust me on that.

    How many visitors do you get per day? Is craigslist and facebook the only advertising?

    I typically notice a drop off around this time of the year. Not huge but it's there.

    People are preparing for winter here. The holidays are right around the corner and a lot of money will be getting devoted to that instead of advertising. And a lot of business's are seasonal.

    It'll pick back up. It always does.

    why don't you treat these kind of problems with promotions, discounts, contests. I mean c'mon, web designing will never die as a business. As long as there is web there is web designing involved.
    Try to fix it from source, not from environment. Just my opinion

    I agree with King Manu above, run some promo's if this was the case. The great thing is you know when your quite months are (now) and it's probably only gonna happen again the next year.

    Use it, set up some promo's, test which ones work well, pick the most effective and use them around this time of the year each year until calls/inquiries start picking up again on it's own.

    There is a general drop in business around this time of the year but its not alarming. You need to promote your business more and more and in the correct fashion. Proper advertising will surely gain you business. Hope your good times return soon.
