There are lots of theme generating software through which you can design your theme such as TemplateToaster, Arty etc. I prefer TemplateToaster because its upgraded features and it is easy to use. Another vote for the Genesis Framework from studiopress. Clean designs, clean code, SEO optimized, mobile responsive and great support. I could keep going, but i think you get the point. A lot of themes from theme forest are bloated, have terrible support, and sometimes the creators just disappear, leaving you in the dark.
