Hey guys i would like to ask something to people more experienced than me.I know Html4.01 and CSS2(and something about css3 as well).

I know nothing about SEO techniques.

I have to build a PROPER website for computer assembly business.

The question is: is better to learn a CMS and build it or should i learn HTML5, JS/PHP and SEO and build it on my own?

What do you recommend?

Please mind that i have to learn on my own.

Another question: How do you develop your skills on web design?Anyway, this is the first website i made on my own, just to use the code i learnt:
http://provasitoweb.altervista.org/
It's written in Italian, just give a look at the design.
Thank you

Emanuele

It depends on how fast you need to get the website up. If you need to get it up within a short period of time, just learn how to use a CMS. SEO is for marketing, did you mistake it for a web development language?

No i didn't, but i know that for building a proper site you have to keep in mind seo techniques such as meta tags.

I think i'm just going to learn how to use wordpress, i'm going to need it in 2 weeks.

where can i learn how to use it?

  • A CMS is a small learning curve compared to HTML5 and CSS3. I recommend a CMS like WordPress or DotNetNuke

Here, a complete course on how to develop a wordpress site: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/

Also, just so you know, seo is not about just meta tags, it is a vast field, but not a difficult one.
