I've looked for this but didn't find anything on paypal about it....maybe a set of fresh eye's can locate it...

I want to do something like...."buy 3...get 1 free"
Does paypal accommodate somthing like this?

If so...where can I find the info to make this happen?

Thanks,
Ken

I haven't attempted anything like that recently but back when I did look into it it wasn't something Paypal did on their side. Thats usually done on your side using a cart system. You need to find a system that will calculate that for you before sending off the processing to Paypal. The only other way I can think of doing this otherwise is setting up the offer with its own link and product identifier with Paypal.

Click here for our buy three get one free

Doing so sends the buyer to Paypal with a product priced for three. Then you take care of the additional item on fulfillment

    OK...how about this option...

Does paypal support a "progressive price discount"...meaning:
    buy 1 at 18.00, buy 2 at 16.00 ea, buy 3 at 14.00 ea....???

    Or...

    buy 1 at 18.00, buy 2 at 32.00, buy 3 at 42.00...????

If they would do somthing like this...i could bury the cost in the progression...make buy 4 the same as buy 3 cost...so your paying for 3 but getting 4

Or do I need a regular shopping cart script with attributes to do stuff like this ???

It's worth a shot huh? lol

The only way to do that is to create multiple PayPal buttons.

That way, you can have a button for if they buy 1, a separate button if they buy 2, and another separate button if they buy 3, and another separate button if they buy 4.

I still think you could do the same thing with the other method.

Have your regular Paypal button, and then have one that says, "If you buy three, you can get one free here."

That way, you'll have accomplished what you wanted to do.

    Hope that helps!

    Make it a great day!

Yes, i think that is the only way, it might make your site look a bit odd with a lot of buttons everywere though.

Those Buy x get x free things are not illegal , so you can use them

You might have to buy a script or hire a coder for it to make the script.

Incentive marketing, like those commercials on TV, buy one at this price get this free, or something like that, If I were looking at designing a script to handle this I would either use a shopping cart app, or I would handle it using a database, and user interface, in PHP you could manage it in many different ways, if it were cumulative, like buy so many of these during a specific period of time and get this free, you could design an IPN script to post data to a table on a database,

once the user meets the criteria you set, they get an email with instructions on how to get the bonus product, but that is just one method,
