Can I rename Wordpress

Hello Everyone!

I would like to design Wordpress websites for my clients, but some of them don't know how to use it. I would like to use a white label plugin that would simplify the interface for some of them. But instead of calling it Wordpress, I would like to name it something else. I want it to sound like Wordpress but not confuse the client when they graduate to the full Wordpress platform. BTW, I plan to disclose this to my clients. I don't want them to think that my business created the CMS that they will be using.

Has anyone done this before? Can I get into trouble with Wordpress if I do this? I really want to make sure that this is an ethical practice.

It also means you are free to use it for anything from your recipe site to a Fortune 500 web site without paying anyone a license fee and a number of other important freedoms."

    Its a open source platform, you can do custom changes on it as you like. And then to resell that custom site you create.

    I think it is not possible, because WordPress keep on updating their code and themes. So if you don't update your WordPress site, then it will be easily hacked by others.
    So keep it genuine and the facts with your customer.

      Thanks for your feedback. I think I'm going to just tell my clients that I am using Wordpress and I will also inform them that Wordpress has been simplified for them. If they want the full program then I won't use a white label plugin at all.

    Google really is your friend... but regardless here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/white-label-cms/ this is a plugin that does exactly what you want and then some things you probably have not thought about - like the login screen.
