Weight Training Site: Which font style in the header?

Hi Guys,

I am creating my first site on weight training and bodybuilding.
I need to mention a title and a subtitle in the header and was
wondering which font would really suit such a site. You know,
something which oozes machismo.... Or should I go with a
regular font (Times New Roman, Verdana etc.)?

Thanks!

  • Quite often I use "Impact" for headers

My favorite place for fonts is dafont.com What I would look at is maybe something like these Fancy > Stencil, Army fonts | dafont.com

    Edwin

  • You should think about what fonts are supported the most. (arial, Tahoma, garamond, Times, etc etc)

If you choose a font which is uncommon, it may not render in some peoples browsers and will be substituted for a regular font anyways.

Easiest way is to use a graphic; then you won't have to worry about it.

    • I agree with Orlando, create a graphic for your header. That will give you a lot of flexibility and control over the look.

You could pick a thick, solid font and manipulate it. For example, you could extrude the letters to achieve a 3-D effect, or create a sense of height and perspective by making the base of the letters bigger than the top. Ah, I digress...

If you are using a template and don't have the option of inserting a graphic, I would suggest using a sans-serif font- boldface. Nothing fancy, just a straightforward and simple arial or helvetica.
