    Hello Emmanuel Katto!

You should address this concern to the WP hosting company(s)
that you are planning to use, and they can explain their security
    features to you.

WordPress and Wix are totally different platforms, and can't be compared with each other.

There are many reasons why your WordPress site can get hacked or malware infected, usually because of the following reasons:
    • Running outdated software/plugins
    • Excessive permissions for files and folders
    • Weak WordPress/cPanel/FTP passwords
    • Local computer infected with virus or keyloggers

If you use a strong password (and change it on a regular basis), and keep WordPress and all plugins/themes updated, then there's very little chance of it getting hacked or infected.

For Wordpress, I would suggest using a paid version of Jetpack, which is created by Wordpress itself. It will take care of everything for you.

Creating a website can be an exciting venture, and I understand your concerns about security, especially after hearing about your friend's experience with WordPress. Both WordPress and Wix are popular platforms for building websites, but they have distinct differences, including in terms of security. You can contact with WP engine's support.

If you prefer a high level of customization and control over your website and are willing to invest time in learning and implementing security best practices, It woud be great choice for you choice.

The security of a WordPress website largely depends on how well it is maintained and updated. It is important to keep the WordPress core, themes, and plugins up to date to patch any known security issues.

Yes, WordPress is secure enough I am using 3 websites. I think your friend shared their credential with others or used low security hosting. But note wants a thing that you should share your credentials with your reliable person or it may be a different case with your friends. Who knows
