Hi Guys,

I have a problematic CSS, can you help me quickly by clicking that link?

Then change the width of your browser and check if every part of the design remains in place.

If some things like header or footer do NOT remain in place please tell me what browser you are using.

Thank you!

    Hallo Ralf,

    Ralf,

Have you tried uploading your page to one of the cool sites that shows you screenshots across a wide range of browsers? It's very helpful to isolate which browsers are having issues.

Do a google search for browsershots.org for a great tool to help compare various web browsers.

Whenever I have CSS issues, I try to isolate that particular problem in two or three different browsers. It definitely helps that I use a MacBook Pro because I can test all the major browsers in OS X, as well as IE 5-8 on my Windows VM (I use VMWare Fusion over Parallel).

Everything stays put in Safari 4 (Mac) and Firefox 3 (Mac). However, in Safari the header and footer are about 1-2 pixels wider on the left margin than the content block.

    Check out reset.css:
    CSS Tools: Reset CSS

The goal of a reset stylesheet is to reduce browser inconsistencies in things like default line heights, margins and font sizes of headings, and so on. The general reasoning behind this was discussed in a May 2007 post, if you're interested. Reset styles quite often appear in CSS frameworks, and the original "meyerweb reset" found its way into Blueprint, among others.
