I think you have the right idea you just need to be redirected in some areas. For example if your trying to bank on a clickbank offer why in the world do you have Adsense on the site?

What would you rather have an 80 cent click or a $30 sale? If a user clicks your advertisement they will be taken AWAY from the page. How are you going to make a sale if they are leaving through other means (that doesn't involve the back button)?

It seems to have a weak call to action. You are explaining how I am going to lose the weight, but there doesn't seem to be a "YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS!" feel to it. Remember the people who are going to find this through search are most likely looking to solve a problem.

You need a page that is going to speak to them, give them the impression that the product you are pitching is actually going to work for them.

    As always just my $.02

      Hi Chris

Not a bad effort - and way better than my first blog. I would put a graphic in the header.

The text is a bit large for me - it feels like you are shouting in print.

I'm picking because you asked - your pages' message is very clear and that is excellent.

I agree with this, having amazon/adsense will kill your conversions

I would add an "about me" section in place of the calorie widget, to make it a little bit more "personal" looking

Also, I'd get rid of the navbar at the top:

It's a good start but the whole thing is too cluttered. Theres so much going on it's hard to focus on what you're really trying to say and it looks sort of spammy in general.

Keep the pic of the hot chick, lose almost all of the other advertising and focus on giving me the message about one or two products (probably just one) that you're really trying to push by providing me with some good info.

You could do a little better with the formating, headlines, center the pictures if you want them on their own or left align with some text beside. Just clean it up in general and I think you're on the right path.

I agree with the comments about getting rid of the adsense and reducing the font size. A header graphic is not mandatory but you are obviously after an audience that has a preference to visual appeal so I would find a nice graphic/pic header for the blog. Also, the 3 things at the bottom, the video, the picture, the ad just don't do anything for me. They seem like an afterthought. I would also try to draw just a little more attention, not in an outlandish way, to my Clickbank link. Just my thoughts.

    the obvious is the traffic.

This is a highly saturated niche so you need to target keywords that are relative your niche.

For clickbank sales you could consider getting an adwords account but get hold of a voucher that gives you $100 for about $15 over at digitalpoint or somewhere [make sure it is a reputable seller].

Then read up carefully on targeting your adwords so you do not burn that $100 without sales.

Of course prior to doing this you want to heed some advice from the above posters.

Although you maybe spending $15 you should be treating it as the true value of $100. If after spending that $100 you can get sales worth $125 - $150 consider yourself a strategic affiliate marketer

If it works for you then you can justify spending another $100 to repeat the same results.

However the most important thing is not to embark on this method until you have fully understood what it entails. DO NOT BURN YOURSELF

It is pretty good for a simple blogger page. I really like the info presented here and think that you could do well with a tad of adsense revenue with enough traffic.

    Good job for a blogger.
That "Daily Calorie Need" needs to go somewhere else, it's an eye sore to have it stick out like that.

On the Amazon products, those scrolls don't work too well.
    Adsense away!

You definitely don't want too many links taking you AWAY from your Clickbank product page. Also, there is nothing really in front of me to see or BUY. Honestly, kinda spammy and unorganized.

    Just my opinions.
    Good luck!

I thought it was well done. In particular the writing. That's where I suck. My focus is on everything but the most important aspect sometimes - the writing! But in general I thought it was good.

You did a great job using blogger to build your first!

I would suggest get your own keyword domain and build a wordpress blog.

Keep this blogger to send link to your main blog though.

It could just be me, but it wasn't obvious where I was supposed to go if I were looking to buy something. Hugely competitive niche, so you can't be a wallflower and expect that people are going to notice you for your value.. Get their attention- tell them what they need to do!
The amazon ads are completely unrelevant therefore make it look cheap, and the way I feel about it, if you aren't a high volume (and I mean high) site then don't clutter up your life with adcents. It devalues it in a way.. Wait until you are getting more traffic and then stick it up if you want, for now focus on larger sums with CB or whatever you choose, something more of a direct and meaningful sale.
Lastly, of all my wordy wisdoms, get yourself self hosted WP, use something simple like Bluehost or Hostgator to start, BH has really quick support, HG I've heard about the same. If you don't know how to do it, there are youtube videos galore or inside Bluehost they have tutorials and Simplescripts, which is click button easy to install your own WP.
And yah, I agree with everyone else, def get a head graphic. And totally keep the sexy girl.. Maybe even move her up in life a bit
You're off to a great start hey?

    Cheers!

oh and search the sh*t out of this forum for anything you can think of, and if you don't know what to look for then just start reading the general marketing section, better yet, splurge the 27$ and get a War room membership. It's apparently a pretty big deal

Trade in your morning paper and nighttime book in bed for this place, and study study study.

Getting the blog right is only the first step.
This is a highly competitive niche that every man and his dog is in.
You have a whole lot of backlinking to do.
    Are you writing articles?

Dude, forget the design. I'm usually the first to be critical of the look and layout of a website. When I was done reading everything on the page, I realized, oh, I'm supposed to critique the blog.

The layout, I think, sucks. It doesn't matter though, you have content people are going to read. It is good enough for a first blog, you will only get better.

I think it looks pretty good for your first try but I agree you should get a domain although like many before me have pointed out, this is a really and I mean really competitive niche to start out with.

You might want to consider doing some keyword research and start with some medium to high search with low competition because when you see your site on page one it will definitely motivate you to do more while it's more than likely you will not even get ranked for a site like that.

I am not being mean just want you to consider doing something that you can see on page one so you get more of an idea how to do it.

I have 3-4 maybe more blogs on page one and while my main keywords may not have a super high search volume, I am also on page one for a ton of related keywords for everyone of them as well.

    Just a thought,
    Kim
