So in addition to my blog, i want to open a small little store with it.. nothing big perhaps 10 products at most. However, is it better to get a sub domain to your word press blog, or a whole new domain name all together and treat a store as a separate site ? As well, what are good, basic eCommerce themes for word press? Which plugins are best to run it.. thanks so much and any leads I would be most thankful for.

I've personally found using themes as an ecommerce solution quite unwieldy, and while there are some great ecommerce plugins out there they may be overkill if you just want a simple selection of 10 products.

If I were you I would check out E-Junkie. For $5 a month you can have your ten products sold through their cart system. You just add your product, then copy and paste the button code they give you. Because it's copy and paste buttons, you can use any theme and put your products anywhere on any site.

I use it myself for just about everything because it's so easy without any fuss.

I would say keep your products on your blog as it will make it less of a leap to get your traffic from browsing to shopping.
