What you need to do is to install anti spam plugins. The two I use are GASP and akismet. GASP stops spam from bots and akismet stops most human spam.

I don't know about those plugins, but with flexsqueeze, once you have the blog looking the way you want it to, you can download the configuration as a csv file and then import it to your other blogs...
